We believe in better business with bees

Our mission is to support and enhance the honeybee population, of which we lose 40% per year, in the western states.

Little things can make a big difference

Our commitment to sustainable and ethical practices goes well beyond the bees we work with. We are a certified B Corporation, members of Best for Colorado and Good Business Colorado communities. We have also partnered with a number of organizations in and around Denver who are dedicated to the betterment of our local communities. We believe that these small commitments and practices make a huge difference in the way we run our business and the impact we have alongside our clients. It’s no wonder we believe that something as small as bees can make a really big difference.

Mike Rosol

CEO and Co-founder
Mike is pursuing his certification as a Master Beekeeper through the Colorado State Beekeeping Association. He stays involved with local beekeepers by serving as Vice President of the Boulder County Beekeepers Association and Secretary of the Colorado State Beekeepers Association. Mike spent 30 years building sales and marketing teams internationally before becoming motivated to help dwindling bee populations west of the Mississippi River. Mike's other passion is fly fishing, and he is a connoisseur of wine with a particular interest in Pinot Noirs.

Dave Mathias, Co-founder, poses in front of a brick wall for a headshot. He is smiling, wearing a gray button-down and tortoise-shell glasses.

Dave Mathias

Co-founder
Dave also spent his career in software, having worked with Mike in several instances. Dave cops to the fact that he started FRB with only a basic understanding that bees were important and in trouble, but has come to be a respected beekeeper himself, launching Mathias Family Farms at his residence. Dave is primarily tasked with running FRB from a sales and marketing standpoint and finds himself many days of the week with hands inside of a beehive helping one of FRB’s esteemed beekeeping team. Dave is an avid outdoorsman and loves nothing more than playing in the snow.

"Mike and Dave did a fantastic job explaining the hive and what we were seeing. They took their time to answer questions and shared their obvious love for the bees. Great time!”
